Great choice - you're going to be very happy with your decision for many years to come.Setting aside all the practical features about metal roofing for a moment - there are some very important decisions to make about the style and look of your new roof.
Do you have a colour and style in mind?
Have you decided on stone coated metal shingles or a classic standing seam look?
Are you looking for a natural colour to compliment your home's exterior or a contemporary colour to contrast against other aspects of your home?
One way to decide is to go through photographs and put aside the ones you really like. We have many image galleries on our website so you can see different products, profiles, and colours installed on residential homes and cottages. We also have pictures on our Pinterest site so you can pin the photos you like to your own Pinterest design board.
Photograph collections are great, but our online Visualizer offers so much more.

1. Get Started
Visit our website's online tools page to launch the Vicwest Visualizer. Create an account so that you can save your project work and return anytime to pick-up where you left off. Having an account will also let you share your project image on social media or print a snapshot of your completed design.
For this overview, we'll design with sample projects - and next time I'll show you how to upload a photograph of your home or cottage and use that in the design process. After you create an account click on the top red tab "Design with sample projects". Click a photograph you would like to work with - perhaps one that looks similar to your home. You're now ready to try-on Vicwest roof or siding products!
2. Design Your Roof
This is the fun part. Move your mouse over the photograph window and you'll see blocks of colour change - indicating a part of the photo that you can modify with Vicwest products. Click the roof and you'll see options for standing seam roofing and metal shingles. When you click on a product you'll see the colour options to select below. You can now go through the complete colour line and see how it looks against the home's exterior features.
Before you get too far - you should click the tab "Save & Review". Once you save your project you'll come back to the Design window to try more styles and colours. You can now take snapshots of different versions using the camera icon under the photograph. This will allow you to toggle back and forth between versions and products using the snapshot thumbnails.
3. Share Your Project Designs
When you've finished working with the design window it's time to share or print your project. Click on the "Save & Review" tab to see all the options. You can share a link to your project photo on social media or email to a friend.
You can also print out the photograph and take it to your contractor or Building Supply company to talk about your new roof installation. Or maybe you just want to pin it on your fridge or bulletin board to look at it over time.
